Hello

Hi. My name is Ruth and although I've been baking for friends and family for many years now, I've finally taken the leap and opened up my own cake business. I'm so excited to get creative and design some stunning cakes for you all.

I grew up watching my grandmother make wedding cakes and she was always the designated family birthday cake maker too. She was trained and excelled in intricate piping and frills for wedding cakes, I always loved watching her work. Alongside side this I always excelled in art at school and college, and I developed a love for history of art after studying this for 2 years. However, after much deliberation I decided to study a science based degree at university and my artisic side was put on the back burner. I went on to qualify as an equine chiropractor in order to pursue my dream of working with injured sports horses. Fast forward 15 years and I am back in my 'creative era' where I feel I truly belong.

Making cakes for weddings and celebrations is much more than 'just a cake' it is a piece of art to me. My background in art and history of art has given me an eye for detail and form. I love working with shape, colour and placement, but I also appreciate the more subtle, timeless colour palettes to create classic elegance. I can't always promise to stick rigidly to a design as quite often my artistic flair takes over, but it will always be a stunning cake that tastes amazing and fits the brief.

It's not all about looks though. My cakes are made with fresh ingredients and luxury fillings. Yes, the cost is a little more. Yes, they take a lot longer to make, but the end result is worth it - they taste beautiful and feedback from my cakes couldn't be better.

In short, yes I am fairly new to the wedding cake industry but it is my passion. I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't feel confident in my skills to deliver the best. I strive for perfection and only the best will do. The cakes I have done are always well received and gain much positive attention.

I am so excited for this new chapter in my life where I get to create stunning edible art that will be a beautiful memory for years to come. My best work is yet to come!
